My photography is inspired by experiences at sea and ashore in North America, Europe, and Australia, creating projects that open conversations with discerning collectors of work described as painterly and cinematic. My goal is to tell a story in original art that resonates and grows in meaning over time.

I am passionate about my work as an art photographer and enjoy licensing my images as well as providing archival quality fine art prints to collectors, art consultants, set and interior designers and art publishers.

My minimalist-inspired wildlife and waterscape images have won Best of Show, Firsts, Seconds, and Honorable Mentions and including the Lyme Land Trust John G. Mitchell Environmental Conservation Award in honor of the former editor of National Geographic Society Magazine.

I also write the Reliable Narrator (markrogerbailey.com/blog) blog about creative pursuits.

The vision of Frank Meadow Sutcliffe, the forceful explorations of Alfred Stieglitz and The Photo-Secession, and energetic compositions by Paul Strand. Ultimately, finding truth in the space between public and private, embrace and abandonment, and shore and sea is what wakes me up at 4:00 am.
